Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. • What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a mental health treatment delivered primarily through talking. It is used to help people process what they are feeling and develop coping tools they can use outside of the sessions.

  • How are individual therapy and group therapy different?

Individual therapy is focused on treating one person, so it can be tailored to their individual needs and strengths. Also, in an individual therapy session you can generally go deeper into issues than in a group therapy session.

Group therapy usually focuses on one theme that resonates with all participants such as trauma, and helping participants develop tools to cope with this particular issue. The group is good for connecting with others going through similar problems, and it is more cost effective than individual therapy. However, participants would not get the same time and attention from therapists as they would in a one-to-one session.

  • How many therapy sessions do I have access to?

You can have access to as many sessions as you like. There is no limit to the number of sessions you have access to. Each person has different needs, some benefit from short-term therapy and some benefit from having long-term support.

The number of sessions covered by your insurance may be limited, so this is something you will have to review before beginning treatment.
